Negombo, Sri Lanka – September 8, 2025
The Claretians of the St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation rejoiced on Monday, September 8, 2025, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as the community gathered to celebrate a triple moment of grace: perpetual profession, first profession, and the renewal of vows. The celebration was made even more meaningful as three Claretians were honored for their Silver Jubilee of religious profession.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration, held at St. Claret Seminary, Negombo, was presided over by the Major Superior, Fr. Joseph Jeyaseelan, CMF.
- Students J. Kirishanth, CMF, and P. Suganthan, CMF made their perpetual profession, embracing lifelong consecration in the Congregation of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
- Anton Alanraj, Diman Pod Kulas, and P. Yuhatharshan made their first profession of vows, dedicating themselves to the Claretian charism through poverty, chastity, and obedience.
- Ten Claretian students, namely C. Kiresiyan, J.S. Davin, S.L. Kanjush, A. Antony Anojan, D. Varun Prakash, S. Fleming Swiger, S. Amalajaanu, X. Damian Donaldin, and M. Ajeethkumar, renewed their vows during the celebration, reaffirming their missionary commitment. Notably, Student Maria Thevan Morais renewed his vows in Kodok, South Sudan, through the hands of the Superior Delegate, Fr. Milfer Vaz, CMF.
- During the liturgy, prayers of thanksgiving were offered for Fr. Everest Dias, CMF, Fr. Milfer Vaz, CMF, and Fr. Vincent De Paul Croos, CMF, as they gratefully marked the 25th anniversary of their religious profession.
