Kodok Mission, South Sudan

In June 2024, the Claretian Missionaries of Sri Lanka initiated a new mission in Kodok, located in the Upper Nile State of South Sudan. South Sudan, the world’s youngest country, has been grappling with political and social instability since gaining independence in 2011. The newly established Claretian community is situated in the Diocese of Malakal, which is the largest of the eight dioceses in South Sudan.
