First Claretian Final Profession Celebrated in South Sudan

Kodok, South Sudan | 8 December 2025

On December 8, 2025, Student Maria Thevan Morais, CMF, made his perpetual religious profession at St. Stephen’s Parish in Kodok during a prayerful and grace-filled celebration.

The religious communities serving in Kodok, along with the parish faithful, gathered in large numbers to witness this significant moment in the life of the Congregation. On behalf of the Major Superior, Fr. Joseph Jeyaseelan, CMF, Fr. Milfer Vaz, CMF, Delegate Superior of the Claretian Community in South Sudan, received the vows.

The Kodok mission was established in June 2024, and Student Maria Thevan has been part of the mission since November 2024, gaining pastoral experience. The Kodok Mission in South Sudan is part of an outreach by the Claretians of Sri Lanka.
