The Symposium

Latest News

On July 17, 2018 the spirituality council of the Delegation organized a symposium on “Religious Life Fashioned by Inter-cultural Living” for all the members of the Delegation. Br. Rod Thomson, FMS, a Marist brother from Australia, facilitated the symposium. In the opening session, Br. Rod spoke about healthy inter-cultural communication. There are different ways of communication, which can either be individual or collective, competitive or collaborative. The symposium was also attended by Claretian sisters from the RMI and MC congregations.
The theme selected for the symposium was a timely one as the Delegation receives many missionaries, students and novices from other parts of the world with different cultural backgrounds. The input shared at sessions demonstrated the beauty and uniqueness in each culture, and a few skills to use in living in an inter-cultural community. It’s imperative that Claretian missionaries should be ready to serve anywhere in the world. This knowledge gained from the symposium would therefore help all the participants to be equipped with the qualities needed for the task.
