A workshop for Claretian members of Sri Lanka and India (ASCLA West Conference) took place from the 2nd to the 7th of October at Serene Pastures Spirituality Center, Bolawalana, Negombo. There were 25 participants: 13 from St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation – Sri Lanka, 3 from Bangalore Province, 2 from Chennai Province, 2 from St. Thomas Province, 2 from Northeast India Independent Delegation, and 3 from Kolkata Independent Delegation. The facilitators were Fr. L. Anthony CMF (Kolkata Delegation), Fr. Jaison Perumpalliolickal CMF (Northeast India Delegation), and Fr. Michael Plamparampil CMF (St. Thomas Province).
This workshop titled the “Claretian Discerning Leadership” is part of a series of workshops organized throughout the Congregation following the initiative of the General Government to promote a culture of discernment in the Congregation.
The workshop had nine modules: three of them were given online and six during the onsite workshop in Negombo.
The inaugural Holy Mass was presided by the Major Superior of St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation Fr. Joseph Jeyaseelan CMF. On the last day of the workshop the Superior General Fr. Mathew Vattamattam CMF gave an online session and responded to the questions the participants raised. The participants appreciated the workshop and evaluated the content and processes positively.
In addition to the workshop, the days and experience were enriched by the liturgical celebrations, visits, and recreational moments.
