Latest News

ASCLA-West that includes the provinces of Bangalore, Chennai, St. Thomas, the independent delegation of north-east (India), and the dependent delegations of Sri Lanka and Kolkota had the meeting of the council members of these provinces and delegations. It was held from the 23rd to the 27th of June, 2017 at St. Claret Seminary, Kattuwa, Sri Lanka.
The circular letter of Fr. General “Called to Radiate the Joy of the Gospel in the World Today” was taken as a base for the meeting and discussion. Accordingly, the focus was directed to areas such as: what is the Lord asking of us in our time; opening ourselves to the process of transformation; temptation and spiritual ailments that afflict our life and mission; and competencies and gifts for proclaiming the joy of the Gospel today. Furthermore, the forum also spent time in discussing about possible apostolate, ministries, and projects where collaboration between ASCLA-West members can be worked out. Towards the end of the 5-day meeting, Fr. Rex Constantine CMF, the Delegation Superior of Sri Lanka was elected as the president of the conference for the next term of three years. The members also had some leisure time when they had the chance to visit some places of tourist attraction in Sri Lanka.
