The Solidarity and Mission (SOMI) training program, facilitated by the General Government SOMI team, was held at the Provincial House, Bangalore. The programme went on from the 12th to the 16th of November, 2018. There were twenty-two participants from different organisms of ASCLA-West including RMI sisters and Frs. Efrain Mamani and Jenis Coonghe, who attended from Sri Lanka. The programme discussed various ways to strengthen the capacity of our organisms to promote Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to establish a workable SOMI network at local, regional and global levels.
By the end of the programme they came out with the following three suggestions:
CMF@UN: to continue creating awareness on the relevance of our Claretian presence in the UN and to reflect and integrate the SDGs in the Pastoral, Social and Educational Plans of each of our organisms and local communities.
JPIC-CMF: To promote Justice, Peace, Non-violence, Human Rights and Ecological Conversion as our priority in all our ministries, especially among the youth.
MISSION PROCURE (MP): to promote Claretian missions, and to engage others (volunteers, donors, etc.) in the mission.
