Priestly Ordination of Six Claretians

Priestly Ordinations – 2023

Six Claretian deacons of St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation – Sri Lanka were ordained as priests on the 20^th of April 2023 at St. Sebastian’s Cathedral, Mannar, Sri Lanka.

The six deacons who were ordained by the bishop of Mannar the Most Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Fernando are: Anthony Desmond Croos CMF, Alex Kipson Antony Danoshan CMF, Charles Mathews Desmenraj CMF, Gunaseelan Selexon CMF, Sahayanathan Rajasekar Dias CMF, and Yogapalan Sutharsan CMF.

With these ordinations, the number of Claretian missionary priests incardinated in St. Joseph Vaz Delegation rises to 46. The new priests have received their first appointment to minister in Claretian parishes and institutions in the following way:

2. Fr. A. Desmond Croos – Local Econome, St. Claret Seminary
3. Fr. C.M. Desmenraj – Thevakiramam Parish, Diocese of Batticaloa
4. Fr. S. Rajasekar Dias – China Bay Parish, Diocese of Trincomalee
5. Fr. G. Selexon – Pampaimadu Parish, Diocese of Mannar
6. Fr. Y. Sutharsan – Mallavi Parish, Diocese of Jaffna
