Holy Year of St. Joseph Vaz – Ballakattuwa

The Holy Year of St. Joseph Vaz was inaugurated in the Diocese of Badulla, in our Claretian Mission Parish at Ballakattuwa dedicated to the saint, on 15 January 2017 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Winston Fernando, the Bishop of Badulla, who presided at the solemn Holy Eucharist. This inauguration ceremony coincided with the annual feast of the saint. A good number of parishioners and others participated in the Holy Mass. Rev.Fr. Nesan Culas CMF the parish priest organized the event in collaboration with Rev. Frs. M. K. S. Francis and S. Jesudasan, the other members of the community. The parish community has also planned various programmes to mark this year of Jubilee in honour of St. Joseph Vaz the patron saint of Sri Lanka.
