The First Delegation Assembly 2022

Day 2

The day was started with the adoration and followed by the Morning Prayer. The morning hours were allocated for the dynamic retreat entitled “Emmaus Experience of the Disciples of Jesus”, and it was conducted by Bro. Carlos Verga. It helped the members to understand the situation and go into deeper reflection. Assembly spent quality time to discover the seeds, weeds and deeds of life, mission, Delegation, Congregation, country etc.

There was an input session on Socio- Political and Economic Crisis and the Situation of the Country by Prof. Jayadeva Uyangoda, via Zoom. He inspired and enlightened the audience on the realities of the present situation of the country. Followed by the talk, Bro. Carlos Verga invited the participants to reflect and discuss in the light of the talk given by Prof. Jayadeva Uyangoda.

His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith also addressed to the assembly on Church’s response to the socio- political and economic crisis situation of the Sri Lanaka. He highlighted the reasons which has led through the years for the present crisis. Finally the Overview report of the Delegation of triennium was presented to the Assembly.
