Christmas Gathering with Migrants

The Christmas programme, organized by the ministry for refugees team of the Delegation for the migrants who are mainly from Pakistan, was held on the 26th of December, 2018 at St. Claret Seminary, Negombo. The Chief Guest for the event was Fr. Mahendra Gunathilaka, the National Director of SEDEC-CARITAS, while Fr. Dilan, SSS, the President of CMRS attended as the Guest of Honour. Fr. Rex Constantine, CMF officiated at the gathering and delivered a Christmas message the participants. There were more than 100 participants from 43 families. Among them were nine new families who arrived in Sri Lanka recently.
The events of the day included: games, sharing of gifts, Christmas carols and common meals. This event became an inter-congregational act as there were religious from the Capuchins, Salvatorians, Missionary Sisters of St. Anthony Mary Claret and Claretian Missionaries on the organizing team, which was steered by Fr. Surendrakumar, CMF. The Delegation team which works for the welfare of the refugees is grateful for the help given by CMRS, SEDEC-CARITAS, and some other religious congregations that contributed and arranged the gifts.
